Junk De Luxe Clothing first hit the shelves in 1996, but the Junk De Luxe design goes way back to the 1980s with the opening on the first store. Back then Thomas Gundorph, founder of Junk De Luxe was one of the first in Europe to import second hand Levi's from the US. He re-designed them and traded them, along with other second hand items under the brand name Junk De Luxe.

Born one rainy day in Paris in 1965, K-Way is credited with the launch of the first windbreaker a perfectlywaterproof jacket that cleverly folded away into a small pocket bag and tied around the waist. During the development of fair trade coffee and fruit, Dutch NGO solidaridad discovers cotton to be harmful for people and the environment. In the year 2000 they start developing organic cotton in Peru and introducing it to the fashion industry. None of the big jeans brands are interested in using organic cotton. Solidaridad decides starting its own fashion brand. Kuyichi, a style conscious jeans brand is launched in 2001, based in the the Netherlands.

Henry David Lee set up the HD Lee Mercantile Co in Kansas, 1889 specialising in the sale of fine goods, soon moving into the production of denim dungarees, overalls and loco jackets. In 1924 Lee released the 101B Cowboy jeans, the first denim trouser specifically designed for cowboys and rodeo riders, followed by the 101Z in 1926, the first ever zip-fly jeans. In 1944 they re branded the cowboy range as Lee Riders and introduced the famous Lazy-S stitching on the back pockets. Today, Lee are still going strong as one of the world's leading denim brands. Henri Lloyd was founded in 1963 in Manchester England by MBE Henri Strzelecky. He started a company that was dedicated to protection through technical innovation in wet weather gear. As the company began to grow they started to supply clothing to yachting crews, one of which was the yacht Maiden in 1989. They were the first all female crew to sail around the world. In 1997 Henry Lloyd supplied clothing to five out of the nine boats competing in the Volvo Ocean Race and today they sponsor the British stars Ben Ainsley and Shirley Robinson.

Over 100 years ago a gentlemen named C.C Hudson began producing garments and overalls for railroad workers and cowboys.
